Toledo Area Family Events: September 2015


Now through September 6: Play Time @ Toledo Museum of Art 
Last chance! You've heard about it all summer long and if you haven't played at TMA, time is running out! The Play Time exhibit ends on September 6 and you don't want to miss this opportunity to have fun at the art museum!


September 2-7: Fair @ Hancock County Fairgrounds
From food and rides to livestock shows, there's plenty to do at this year's Hancock County Fair.

September 4-6: Labor Day Festival @ St. Joseph Catholic Church
Located in Erie, MI, the St. Joe's Labor Day Festival is a weekend filled with entertainment, games, rides, softball tournaments and more!


September 4-10: Fair @ Fulton County Fairgrounds
The Fulton County Fair is "One of Ohio's greatest fairs, located at the Top of Ohio." You won't want to miss this year's fire fighter show, classic car display or fan favorite, The Van-Dells.

September 6: Monarch Butterfly Festival @ Maumee Bay
Watch Monarch butterflies begin their journey to Mexico where they'll stay for the winter. Children can also participate in games and craft projects.

September 6: Fireworks @ Well Park
Join friends and family for a fireworks display in memory of Pete Willett. There will be entertainment, food and beverages before the fireworks, which will be behind Woodmore High School at Well Park in Elmore, OH.


September 7: Labor Day Parade @ Downtown Toledo
The annual Labor Day Parade begins in Downtown Toledo at 9 AM. It will start at Summit and Monroe, head north to Adams, then west on Adams to Huron and back to Monroe.

September 11-13: 45th Annual Greek American Festival @ Holy Trinity 
Opa! Celebrate Greek culture at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral. There will be food, pastries, dancing and so much more!

September 11-13: Black Swamp Arts Festival @ Downtown Bowling Green 
As one of the Sunshine Top 100 Arts Festivals and the #1 arts festival in Ohio, the Black Swamp Arts Festival is a favorite for artists and patrons.

September 12: Color Run @ Promenade Park
Known as the Happiest 5K on the Planet, the Color Run is where participants get splattered with paint and still have smiles on their faces.


September 12: Food Truck Fest @ Collingwood Arts Center 
Stop by the Collingwood Arts Center for Toledo’s food truck festival! In addition to the food trucks, there will be drinks and live music.

September 12: Flying Pig Music Fest @ Toledo School for the Arts
With 6 full hours of entertainment, a craft fair, food trucks and kid's activities, there's something for everyone at this year's TSA Flying Pig Music Fest.


September 12: Harrison Rally Day Festival @ Downtown Perrysburg
Visit historic downtown Perrysburg and watch a parade, eat food and play children's games. These are just a few highlights of the annual Harrison Rally Day Festival.

September 12-13: International Festival @ Islamic Center of Greater Toledo Perrysburg
The 15th annual International Festival promises to be fun for the whole family. There will be over 100 different types of food, pony and camel rides, inflatables, rock climbing and much more!


September 13: FamilyFest @ Notre Dame Academy
Enjoy fellowship, friends and family at Notre Dame Academy during the 2015 FamilyFest. Are you lucky? Find out by participating in the raffle or play bingo. There will also be bouncing fun for the kids.

September 13: Grandparent's Day @ Toledo Zoo
It's a free day at the zoo if you're a grandparent! Bring your grandchildren to the Toledo Zoo and visit the new Aquarium and Cool Zone.

September 13: Pizza Train @ The Old Road Dinner Train
As a family favorite, the Old Road Dinner Train is celebrating Grandparent's Day with a Pizza Train! The trip is two hours long and reservations are required.


September 19: 14th Annual Kids Extravaganza @ WBGU-TV
Spend a day with Ruby the Red-Eyed Tree Frog! Enjoy games, inflatables, crafts, face painting and a puppet show, along with entertainment and food.

September 19: Glass City Black Rodeo @ Huntington Center
Howdy, pardner! The rodeo is coming to town! Watch the traditions of an old western rodeo and enjoy a variety of entertainment from R&B to Hip-Hop.

September 20: Walk to Cure Diabetes/JDRF One Walk @ Ottawa Park
Help the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation find a cure at this year's One Walk. Form a team or come out to support JDRF.

September 20: Fun Around the Campfire @ Wolcott House Museum
You'll want to bring a flashlight for this fun event where there will be toasting of marshmallows for s'mores! Tell stories around the fire, share a poem or play your favorite instrument.


September 23-26: Apple Butter Making Week @ Sauder Village
A fall favorite, Apple Butter Making Week begins on September 23 where you'll get a chance to watch cider boil down, enjoy apple dumplings, apple pies and plenty more.

September 25-27: Ghost Walk @ Schedel Arboretum & Gardens
Tour Downtown Elmore and Schedel Arboretum & Gardens, have dinner and hear ghost stories!


September 26: Fall Festival @ Country Lane Tree Farm
Do you want to milk a cow? Here's your chance, along with a day of other fun-filled farm activities including pony and barrel train rides!

September 26: Roche de Boeuf Festival @ Downtown Waterville
Join the festival fun beginning with the Roche de Boeuf Parade through Downtown Waterville. Continue enjoying your day with entertainment, food, a car show, kids zone and more.


September 27: Maumee Bay River Festival @ International Park
Do you know the Maumee River is the "Great Lakes' fishiest watershed?" It's time to celebrate with the 4th annual Maumee Bay River Festival. Take a ride on the Sandpiper or a kayak, enjoy live music, arts & crafts, food and plenty more.
